Please join St. ËÄ»¢Ó°Ôº University School of Social Work students at this year's Social Action Fair Monday, April 13. The fair will run from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM in the Great Hall, George Martin Hall, St. ËÄ»¢Ó°Ôº University campus.
Social Work students will showcase projects from their social action field placements. The fair will feature topics that include youth homelessness; palliative approach in long-term care; sanctuary networks for migrant workers; intersections of intimate partner violence and disability; mapping anti-racist advocacy in higher education; Housing First; and youth mentorship.
This year, students were placed with David Coon's Constituency office, Madhu Verma Migrant Justice Centre, Promise of Home, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Fredericton and Oromocto, Greater Fredericton Social Innovation, Muriel McQueen Fergusson Centre for Family Violence Research, SPA-LTC (Strengthening a Palliative Approach in Long-Term Care), and Flower Power Production Inc.
All are welcome to attend and learn more about the School of Social Work, as well as the partner organizations. Refreshments will be provided.
